Archaeological Park of the Colosseum: guiding international audiences in preparing for their visit

The Colosseum Park in Rome is one of the most visited monuments in the city, attracting thousands of visitors every year. With its well-maintained gardens and ancient ruins, it offers a unique experience in a historical setting. The park also hosts various cultural events throughout the year, providing a complete immersion into the cultural richness of Rome.

Given this influx and the complexity of the site’s cultural programming, the teams were seeking a way to provide visitors with clear and accessible practical information. Furthermore, the diversity of visitors required a multilingual solution to ensure an optimal experience for all who enter this historic monument.

Developing a custom and intuitive
chatbot for the audience

In partnership with Machineria, Ask Mona brought NeroBot to life, a unique practical information chatbot. Sporting the features of the illustrious Emperor Nero, this virtual assistant is available on the Colosseum’s website in French, English, Italian, and soon in Spanish. NeroBot provides visitors with practical information such as opening hours, prices, and much more.

Usage statistics testify to the success of this virtual assistant, with over 73,000 users interacting in just a few months. In December 2023, the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum was awarded the Smartphone d’Oro, the first Italian prize dedicated to the best digital communication and information experiences of public organizations and companies thanks to the chatbot.
